UK Pro BASE has been established as a non-profit organisation to organise high profile BASE jumping events in the UK. All revenue raised will be put back into making our events bigger and better for the participants, spectators, hosts and media.
Mission Statement
To establish a high-profile UK BASE jumping tour, with a series of events from buildings and objects in the British Isles. To give European jumpers the opportunity to access places we would otherwise be denied. To provide lower-profile "development" events aimed at less experienced jumpers.
Who are we?
BASE has historically been a shadowy sport, operating on the fringes of acceptability and cloaked in secrecy. With a very strong ethic of invisibility and "leave no trace" the only time the wider world becomes aware of the sport is when an accident occurs or a high profile object is jumped and caught on camera. This often leads to sensational media reporting and does not reflect the modern BASE environment. BASE jumping has evolved into a highly technical, cutting-edge modern sport, no longer worthy of its reputation as suicidal and the reserve of loonies.
World-wide there are now many sanctioned events and sites, with many countries operating associations and schools. The events in particular are used to showcase modern BASE equipment and techniques and to re-educate the wider public as to the nature of the sport. These events also offer high-profile media opportunities for sponsors and associated companies.
The more secretive side of BASE will, and should, always exist but the time is right for the UK to join the rest of the world in embracing the more public face of our sport.
"Now is the time to come out of the shadows and meet them in person...."
